About Universal Thirst

Universal Thirst is a boutique type foundry specialising in producing fonts for the Indic and Latin scripts. Set up in 2016 by designer and engineer duo Gunnar Vilhjálmsson and Kalapi Gajjar and drawing on their contrasting visual heritage, the studio offers a unique, dual perspective on multiscript typography. Clients of note include Apple, The Ford Foundation, Frieze Art Fair, Google, Icelandair, Instagram (Meta), Manchester Museum, among other technology and culture brands.
